Statistical approaches other than regression analyses are propensity score matching and inverse likelihood weighting. In the following sections, we first provide an overview of the designs of the 163 included research. We then study to what extent research employed each of the four methods to reduce potential confounding. A appreciable majority of research (88%) used randomization as a method to management for potential confounders.
