Belleville no sólo es un barrio popular del nordeste de París, es todo un "país". Así, frente a los discursos oficiales, frente a los planes de ocupación de suelos, frente a las órdenes de expulsión, la resistencia y las asociaciones de defensa se organizan.
Belleville is not just a working class neighbourhood in north-east Paris - it's a country in its own right! Consequently, local people are resisting official discourse, urban building projects, and eviction orders by forming associations in order to defend themselves.
