MOTO Machi/March 2015

Genre : Workshop | Dar es Salaam

Wednesday 25 march 2015

Times : 00:00
Principal country concerned : Column : Cinema/tv, Literature, Poetry / story telling

This month we'll be doing a couple of new and different things!

First, we'll be meeting in a different place, Mokka City! We'll still be holding some meetings at the library but have decided to mix it up a bit and have some meetings where people can also have a coffee or grab some food. Moto will still always happen on the last Wednesday of the month.

We'll also be doing Moto Reads for the first time, two recommended readings, one English and one Swahili (you can read more about the idea here: https://mototanzania.wordpress.com/moto-reads/). For March (to be discussed at this gathering) the books are The Wicked Walk - W.E. Mkufya and Vuta n'Kuvute - Shafi Adam Shafi. We will be sharing sample chapters of both books and you can purchase the books at TPH Bookshop orKINUvation with a 1,000 Tshs. discount on each book! We're also looking for book recommendations for future gatherings, let us know if you have a book you think we should be reading!

As usual we also encourage writers to share their work, all genres, English or Swahili, and published or unpublished!

The event is free and open to anyone who is a writer and participation of all is encouraged regardless of experience. Moto is open to writers and speakers of Swahili or English and both languages are equally encouraged.
