His name is Modou and he lives somewhere around there.

Here in Paris, in Bern or in Cairo.
Born from a family of brotherhood sufi, music impassioned ; he's inspired today by all that surrounds him and by his trips throughout the world. When his father dies in 2001, he knows Modou has a long way to go, his way. This initiatory search that Modou's music incarnates pushed his destiny to France, Switzerland and Egypt.

The ambition of the film is to make people share Modou's initiatic voyage and spirituality, thus to reveal the premises of a musical movement "the Sufi Jazz". Because we are precisely now at the time of its appearance, we wish to focus on bewitchment inspired by Sufism throughout the history of three awakenings : that of a man, that of an instrument and that of music. To make appear this magic realism.

We decided to carry out this documentary film because it became evident and obviously evident to us to direct it. We did not want to lose what the moment offered us, a time to meet Modou and his light.

To echo to the current artistic scene of the world, we had the feeling he would meet his public, in the wave of passion for "the musics of the world", especially for the percussions, and would answer the growing interest for a music of escape. This music, even transfigured here by Sufi spirituality, so far from the extremism that recently terrified the West. A philosophy that proved itself.
Why shouldn't we find a sense in it ?
