Oran, 5 July 1962. While the jubilant Algerians celebrate Independence, the festival turns into a drama. 700 inhabitants, Europeans or Muslims having chosen France, are massacred in a few hours. The manhunt, mysteriously triggered, lasted a day under the passive gaze of the French army, which was cordoned off in the barracks by order of President de Gaulle?

A documentary film by Georges-Marc BENAMOU and Jean-Charles DENIAU (France) selected for the PRIMED (International Prize for Mediterranean Documentary and Reportage) 2020.
