The director opposes the cold and mechanical gaze of the western civilization that leads to self-destruction and another form of destruction, that of traditional society. This society tried to reject corruption by showing villagers fighting against fire without getting any help from the firefighters they had refused to bribe. It is an avant-garde film about the opposition between rationalists and a traditional Africa.
