Encounters' Prizes during a curator visit commissioned by International Curators Forum
at the Bamako Encounters 2009. Nestor Da was amongst the 5 award winners (Baudouin Mouanda, Zanele Muholi, Uche Okpa-Iroha et François Xavier Gbré). Da also received the'Young Creation' Prize and enjoyed 6-month residency at the prestigious Arles School of Photography.

Photo-Festivals believes that mobility is an intrinsic part of the creative artistic process that
can truly enhance and enrich an artist's work.
With this in mind, Photo-Festivals created the Crossing Point residency to invite a talented
emerging photographer to attend for the first time in his/her career a photography festival in Europe.

Photo-Festivals are thrilled to announce their collaboration with the Fondation Blachère (Apt, France) and to invite Burkinabè photographer Nestor Da to be their 3rd Crossing Point photographer-in-residence
during Les Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d'Arles 2010* from 4th to 12th July 2010.

Nestor Da will undertake an intensive eight-day residency in Arles, during which he will share a flat with other photography practitioners and make contact with numerous renowned practitioners while enjoying the photo festival. He will also attend the Rencontres d'Arles Photo Folio Review.
