Miami Short Film Festival

The world's most creative filmmaking genre is about to be showcased at The 9th Miami Short Film Festival, Nov 13 th thru Nov 20 th, 2010.
Another year of festival and another opportunity for you to join us.
Don't be left out! Mark your calendar now. "This is a unique opportunity"

A one of a kind selection of short films will reveal the true spirit of this powerful art form. From original scripts, to different perspectives, to new cinematography and film techniques, each piece is the result of true emotion and expression. Today's short film cinema is undoubtedly, the nurturing ground of tomorrow's world-renowned filmmakers.

MSFF's goal year after year is focused on motivating directors, screenwriters, actors, and producers to make their films and share them with fellow film makers and industry professionals. The ultimate goal is to bring exposure to independent up-and-coming filmmakers. As a result, the festival has showcased over 800 high quality films from around the world representing over 36 countries.

This year, the festival will be turned in to an whole-year-long event with monthly screenings, ending with a full week with the best films showcased through the year (Nov 13 - Nov 20 2010)


RULES AND REGULATIONS

Submissions are now open for 2010

- The film's total running time should between 1 to 30 minutes
- Films in other language than English must have English subtitles
- NTSC Only (No PAL)
- The festival accepts Documentaries, Environmental, Experimental, Animation, and Narrative
- The festival accepts films shot on 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, HD or Video
- Film must be submitted on DVD for previewing
- If your film is accepted the screening version must be submitted on Beta SP. Mini DV, DV Cam.
- The festival does not return material unless the filmmaker includes a self-addressed and stamped return box with their submission, no exceptions. Preview DVDs will not be returned
- The MSFF reserves the right to show short clips of the films to promote the festival (Internet / TV / other media)
- The MSFF reserves the right to use still images from the film to promote the festival
- Announcement of accepted films will be posted on the MsFF website prior to the event
- Not filling out the entry form completely and accurately may delay your film for consideration. Please contact our office with any questions
- Awards available to win are: Best Animation, Best Documentary, Best Experimental, Best Environmental, Best Narrative, Best Local, Best Foreign, and Best of Festival
- All films in the festival's "Official Selection" will be considered for nomination to win Best Of in its category
- All south Florida "Official Selection" films are automatically considered for nomination to a special Best Local category
- All foreign "Official Selection" films are automatically considered for nomination to a special Best Foreign
- All Best of Category winners (including Best Local and Best Foreign) are automatically nominated to the Best of Festival category

To complete the submission you must follow three steps:

1. Create your free film account on Fest21.com.
-----------Own your film promo blog on the leading fest circuit community (media, festivals and other film professionnals, 350 000 visitors per month).
-----------Register the film in the fest21.com/ filmfestivals.com database if not previously listed.
-----------Upload the press kit & trailer on your profile, you may want to feed the blog with more news, images, film stills to showcase and promote.

Fill out the Registration Form in your computer.
Print and sign.
Send the form with your film screener to the festival
