The theme chosen for the conference is "New Museums for Africa: Change and Continuity" with three specialised workshops, each examining salient issues that impact on Africa's heritage:

1. Restitution and repatriation of African cultural and natural properties: why and how?

2. Museums as public spaces: Interpretation and re-interpretation

3. Local solutions of African Museums to global socio-economic trends

The three workshops shall examine and discuss various themes as outlined in the section "Workshop Description" in the Call for Expression of Interest to Present a Paper.

With the support of
