A.T.D. is a non-profit association, created in 2006, whose main objective is the promotion and dissemination of activities that contribute to preserving the memory and deepening knowledge about the struggle for liberation and national sovereignty of the African peoples, the former CONCP and more particularly of Angola.

To achieve the proposed purposes, ATD proposes to carry out the following tasks:
- Organize and manage a Documentation Center having as its main collection the documentation preserved by Lúcio Lara throughout his political and military trajectory.
- Promote and disseminate scientific, educational and cultural activities
- Hold meetings linked to the struggle for the liberation of Africa.
- Execute and promote research projects.
- Cooperate with educational and cultural institutions.
