Djaté, lends his name to the band. The name, originated from Mali, Africa, meaning "Strength of a Lion." Originally from the Caribbean Island of Dominica, Djaté is now a Colorado resident. The band has been rockin' roots reggae in the Rockies and beyond. As one reporter said "Djaté brings culture to the Rockies." Along with his experienced band, Djaté has played with the likes of Culture, Mikey Dread, Leroy Sibbles, Max Romeo, even playing on a few tracks with Izzy Stradlin, formerly of "Guns & Roses." Djaté has opened for various acts including: Third World, Pato Banton, Damian Marley, Lucky Dube, Toots & The Maytals, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff and the Legendary Wailers.
