Soi was born in 1972. He lives and works in Nairobi, the city from which he draws much of his inspiration. He has painted since he was a small boy since his dad was also an artist. He went to school and graduated in 1996 for art from the Creative College.Soi's big inspiration is Nairobi.

His Audience is majorly anyone who has lived in Kenya enough to understand the dynamics of Kenya. Much of his work evolves around corruption since it is a big problem in Kenya. His work has been selected for group and solo exhibitions in Africa, Europe, the UK and the US. His vision is to create a visual diary where in the next 15 to 20 years, young people will look at his work and see where Kenyan society has come from.
