Having a passion for arts and entertainment led Esther to being part of the African acapella group called Pambazuka and performed in many events in Sydney, Australia until 2011. She joined Afro-Australia movie and music Awards (AAMMA) based in Sydney, Australia, in 2011 and is currently the Vice President. Mumbi has been a member of Sisters With A Vision Inc (SWAV) since 2010; an association involved with multicultural community development and event management and is currently the president. Through SWAV, she has been involved in many community building activities and a notable example is fundraising for the charity OASIS Africa during the filming of Celebrity apprentice, Australia.
Mumbi is a member of the Australian Film Institute.
