Born in 1993, Simon Panay has made four short documentaries in West Africa. In 2014 he received the ARP Young Talent of the Year Award and in 2018 the Documentary Grant from the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation. He continues to explore the world of gold mining with "The Boy With White Skin" in 2024.
