Becker International Films

Entering into its third year of operation, Becker International Films has continued its growth as a solid provider of quality independent films created by visionary filmmakers.

2006 will reap the rewards of its co-production efforts as well as the co-venture with Dendy Films in establishing a London presence, with films such as the musical romantic comedy, Marigold and the highly anticipated drama Control, based on the life of enigmatic lead singer Ian Curtis of legendary English post-punk band Joy Division. Becker International Films most ambitious film to date, Marigold makes it premiere at the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival. Starring Ali Larter and Salman Khan, the film will be unveiled for the first time to buyers in Berlin. Also joining Becker International Films selective slate is the emotionally engaging drama Opal Dream, directed by Peter Cattaneo, which has been selected as the Opening Night film for the Kinderfest section of the Berlinale, further adding to the festival track record of Becker International Films films which included selections to such world class festivals as the Locarno and Edinburgh Film Festivals for the films Rag Tale and Voices of Iraq and the Montreal World Film Festival for Robert Connolly's drama Three Dollars.

Becker International Films plans include further expansion into the European co-production market as well as independent films with Hollywood filmmakers and expect to announce several more intriguing and commercially viable film projects throughout 2006.
