The Fondation Blachère presents the exhibition Ngaparou 3 from January 19th to April 29th 2023 in its art centre in the industrial area in Apt, before moving to a new site in La Gare de Bonnieux on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. This will be its 48th exhibition, gathering 21 of the 500 or so artists who have been exhibited or who have benefited from creative residencies in Apt or in Senegal, in the Senegalese villa of Ngaparou.

This new exhibition could be described as "poly-monographic" in the sense that the residents are not confined to anyone theme. Thus they are free to develop their own aesthetic language or to innovate by experimenting, since they have no obligation of result. In order to do this, they have an adapted workshop in an open and wooded environment, facing the ocean, and benefit from the advice of a neighbouring and recognized Senegalese artist, as well as a European gallery owner installed nearby, under the benevolent eye of Jean Paul Blachère, often present.

In the end, the link between these artists is the place.

This shows the Fondation's desire to help artists develop their art and make a living from it by organizing creative residencies, which is in a way its DNA. These residencies in two places and the exhibitions that are based in them link Africa to Europe.
