Paul Junior Casimir, better known as "Lintho", is a puppeteer in Port-au-Prince. Even if life is not always easy, it smiles to him from time to time. While he befriends a French girl who wants to learn how to make puppets, Lintho attracts the jealousy of the people in his neighbourhood who think he is getting a lot of money. One of them decides to plot to have the puppeteer arrested. Lintho's life is cut short by 407 days due to the flawed system of arbitrary detention.
