The Jaaxlé Bench is the meeting point of four young people who, sitting on a bench above the Léopold Sédar Senghor Airport (Dakar, Senegal), watch the planes taking off and dream that one day they will take the "iron bird" to cross the Atlantic Ocean. "Banc Jaaxlé" reminds us the true story of Senegalese Bouna Wade and of two Cameroonian who paid the price of life by settling under the undercarriage of a plane. Their only will: migrating to Europe or America.

Director's statment
I want to show the world what I can the most easily describe, the issue of immigration. I come from a region, Louga, which saw most of its population leaving, and I grew up in a suburb where the youth can only imagine their future outside. I think that after meeting authors from other places and listening to a western audience after having listened to their African counterpart, I will be able to find a sequel or a complement to "Banc Jaaxlé", which is my second film project, and which I hope will have a positive influence on this phenomenon.
