"Wend Kuuni" or "God's gift" is a handsome and strong 20 years old young lad. He has been living for 12 years at Tinga's who adopted him with yhe permission of the village chief when he had been found half-dead in the bush. Poghnéré, Tinga's daughter who is 17 develops an unprecedent liking and affection for her adoptive brother who loves his sister as well. The family enjouys a peaceful life till the day when Poghnéré is critically ill.
