Madeleine lives in a small village in the Gers, the department where the grandparents, whom I never knew, come from. She has been taking care of Gabrielle, a former resident of a psychiatric hospital, for more than twenty years. Her sons, Pierre and Henri, still live with her on the land they inherited. Every day, Madeleine washes, cleans, takes care of, cooks and worries about her little world. But, at 84, Madeleine has decided to retire. The end of one cycle, the beginning of another and, in between, a multitude of tiny changes. The film focuses on the variations in Madeleine's daily life, from the a priori harmless fragment to the major events that upset her.
