A nurse by profession, Ezamot is admitted to retirement, a retirement he did not prepare for. Forced to withdraw to the village with all his family while waiting for his pension, he is taken in by his younger brother, Ngassa. In Ngassa's house, the promiscuity between Magrita, Ezamot's wife, and Ngassa's wife soon leads to a falling out between them. When his pension arrives, Ezamot is caught up in his favourite sin: a life of debauchery, consisting of games of chance and enjoyment with girls of joy. In the end, encouraged by his brother Ngassa and the understanding of his wife, Ezamot will resolve to work the land, the fund that is least lacking.
