If you can answer yes, yes, yes - then please read on...

Sauti za Busara is an international music festival, held each February in Zanzibar, showcasing music from the Swahili region, African Continent and diaspora.

In past years, more than 382 groups have performed, including Ebo Taylor, Jupiter & Okwess International, HAJAmadagascar, Joel Driscoll and Sekou Kouyate, Cheikh Lo, Khaira Arby, Mokoomba, Samba Mapangala & Orchestra Virunga, Nneka, Natacha Atlas, Didier Awadi, Bassekou Kouyate, Jagwa Music, Tumi & the Volume, Fredy Massamba, Thandiswa, Culture Musical Club, Orchestre Poly Rythmo and more. The festival features live music only, i.e. no playback.

For artists performing in the Festival, we usually pay a modest performance fee and cover local expenses in Zanzibar, including travel, accommodation, food and incidentals. Artists from outside the region may have to find their own travel sponsors.

The festival selection committee meets early August to decide the artists programme for SzB2015. All applicants will be notified of the committee's decisions before September.
