Two new photo projects are giving insight into the lives of Tanzanians - both of which have been inspired by the famous Humans of New York project.

Utu wa Watu (https://www.facebook.com/utuwawatu) is the brainchild of Emanuel Feruzi, one of the founders of Dar es Salaam tech hub KINU.

Meanwhile, Humans of Zanzibar has been launched as an Instagram account (http://instagram.com/humansofzanzibar) by Zanzibari photographer Salum.

Like Humans of New York, both projects capture portraits as well as some simple quotes from the people photographed, such as:

"Tunaongozwa na viongozi wasio na huruma kwa wale wanaowaongoza"

"We are led by leaders who do not sympathize with those they are leading".
