To complement the East Africa Community's (EAC) efforts to achieve people-centered integration, CDEA will publish selected creatively written travel writing to echo the voices of East Africans on how to enhance social cohesion in the region.

We are interested in literature that reflects your traveller's experiences as you crossed borders (Busia, Malaba, Namanga, Mtukula, Katuna, Kanyaru or other border towns) for vacation, education/study, visiting relatives/families or business.

CDEA will publish selected travel short stories in the July 2014 Issue of Mashariki: Cultural Understanding and Peace Building Journal, under the segment 'East African Voices'.

AWARD: The selected writers will win a book written by an East African. This is CDEA's effort to promote reading of East African Literature by East Africans.
