Bitone means "talents." A unique aspect of Bitone's approach is its emphasis on helping children and youth develop skills and aptitudes for their future through instruction and performance in traditional African performing arts; music, dance, and theater.
As a registered non-profit organization, Bitone's core objectives are to provide outreach to displaced orphans and underprivileged children of Uganda. Initially, we provide food, shelter, and clothing, access to school, medical care and counseling/mentoring.
Bitone seeks to rehabilitate these children through music and dance. While providing our children with rehabilitation, healing and expression though art, their performances build a future of job opportunities, self-sustainability and empowerment.
The Bitone Troupe also strives to perpetuate awareness and appreciation for traditional Ugandan culture and folklore through local and international partnerships.
Our Mission
The mission of The Bitone Children's Center is to enhance the lives and hopes of Ugandan children and youth who are who lost their parents or homes due to disease, war, or economic hardships.
Our Vision
Our vision is that by providing basic food and shelter, a nurturing environment, an academic education, with training in traditional Ugandan dance, music, and theater, our children's lives can again become meaningful and joyful.
