Bizerte, Tunisia. A port where the African land plunges abruptly into the Mediterranean. The last city in Africa, the northernmost, only 250 km from Italy.
A fertile and rich land, a strategic port for centuries, Bizerte is a city of barracks, naval bases and prisons. Bizerte, "Little Paris" at the time of French colonisation, has been taken hostage by radical Islamist groups since 2011.
Bizerte is Samar, a young girl who is training for her next boxing match hoping to leave, Mohamed, a writer who has spent half his life in prison, Khaled, a Shiite craftsman and political opponent who is preparing for action, or Dhia, his cinema and his revolution.
All accomplices and victims of a history that is returning to violence. The city weaves the fabric of the story, itself an accomplice and victim, gentle and ruthless.

A film by Michele COPPARI and Francesca ZANNONI selected for the International Prize for Mediterranean Documentary and Reportage (PriMed) 2020.
