One of the most significant ethnic groups of Chad is that of the Mundang. This people's leader, the 'Gong', is the only owner of the village's herd and has sixty-three wives. The village is divided into neighborhoods and each one is home to a polygamous household. Mud huts are separated by dome-shaped storehouses, of which there are as many as the number of wives the man has. A separate space is arranged for friends to stay in. Women are assigned to decorating, pottery and polishing the walls.
