We had to stop there, on this tiny territory that separates Europe from Africa, on the southern border of Europe: Melilla. Melilla is a Spanish enclave located on the Moroccan coast, in the middle of the Riff. A territory surrounded by a metal wall that prevents men from the south from entering Europe. For those who have penetrated it, the enclave of Melilla is a trap. An open-air prison from which one must escape at all costs. On the edge of the port, at nightfall, dozens of undocumented street children try to sneak in without being seen. Hanging under the chassis of a lorry, hiding in a scrap metal cargo or hauling themselves up along the mooring lines. Doing the "Risky" as they say, i.e. boarding clandestinely, risking one's life on board a ship bound for Europe. Around this steel enclosure, a disastrous human farandole is organising itself as best it can to survive.
