Taxi Waves is a three-part mini-series narrating stories of the rising and thriving music scenes in Lagos, Maputo and Addis Ababa, revealing the intentions and aspirations behind contemporary African youth and their music culture. From exploring the dynamics of the afrobeat industry and the distinctive Lagosian culture to hearing from pioneers of Pandza who infused traditional Marrabenta with elements of ragga and dancehall to Ethiopian producers developing sounds that fuse their traditional music with streams of electronic music. documentary format where the collective investigates contemporary African music scenes through the expedient of a taxi ride.
