It is perhaps one of the most dangerous and deadly workplaces in Egypt. Stonemasons and drivers drive through clouds of white dust that penetrate the lungs, reducing their respiratory capacity. 300 square kilometres of limestone quarries where 35,000 workers suffer severe working conditions, all for a very meagre wage of $3 to $4 a day.
