Abdi Ismael Jama was born in Arabsio, Somali, in 1973.
He immigrated during adolescence to the Netherlands. Graduated
from the Nederlandse Film & Televisie Academie in Amsterdam, he directed three shorts: "Noura" (2000), "Arrak" (2001) and "Nolocha" (2002) selected in Amsterdam, Fespaco, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Edimbourgh and Stockholm. In 2007, he shot "Lost Boy", a short produced by MovieTron.
