Mirlande Amazan was born in Haiti (of Syrian and Cuban descent) and came to the United States at the age of three, when her family moved to New York City.

Her past career as an international model catapulted her into the film industry as an actor, director and producer. Her background as a psychotherapist offers a unique perspective as a screenwriter. She aims to break mental health stigmas and bring clarity to the masses through her work.

She plays Tracy in the TV movie Blended: The Kids Are (Not) Alright and Reem in the short The Auction. Mirlande wrote, directed, and is performing in the short film LIFE… (currently in production).
