Arnold Antonin, born in Port-au-Prince, Haïti in 1942, is a movie director and a university professor who also heads a cultural center. He is President of the Association of Haitian Movie Directors, and has produced and directed more than twenty documentaries and two films, "Piwouli" (Piwouli and the Zenglendo) and "Does The President Have AIDS (Le président a-t-il le SIDA?)" starring Jimmy Jean-Louis, who plays The Haitian in the hit TV series "Heroes". "Jacques Roumain: la Passion d'un Pays", won the Paul Robeson Prize at the 21st Pan-African Festival of film and television in Ouagadougou (Fespaco) in 2009.
From 1999, he worked with the team from the Centre Pétion-Bolivar, including Oldy Auguste (camera and editing) and Mathieu Painvier, production assistant, in the production of a series of documentaries, portraits of poor Haitian female workers, and works on the small personal art galleries of emblematic figures of Haitian art such as Tiga, Cédor, Albert Mangonés, André Pierre, Patrick Vilaire, Marithou, and Préfete Duffaut.

This film, sponsored by the well-known journal Les Cahiers du Cinéma, launched Haitian cinema on the international level and is still regarded as a cult film (it was shown at the Haitian Film Festival in Paris, 2001);

1996: La troisiéme guerre mondiale a déjá eu lieu (The third world war has already taken place), video, short film on Port-au-Prince.
2001: Piwouli et le zenglendo. Based on a satirical play by Gary Victor.
2004: GNB contre Attila ou Un autre Haiti est meilleure (GNB against Attila, or another Haiti is better), full-length film on the student-led fight for democracy in Haiti.
2007: Le Président a-t-il le Sida? (Does the president have AIDS?), won the Paul Robeson Prize for best African diasporic film and the special prize of the Committee for the Fight Against Aids in Burkina Faso at the Pan-African Film and Television, FESPACO.
2009 : "Jacques Roumain, la passion d'un pays" Won Paul Robeson Award (FESPACO.
2011 : "Les Amours d'un Zombi". Won Paul Robeson Award (FESPACO), for the third consecutive time.
