French Algerian Palestinian actress, screenwriter and film director.

Lina SOUALEM (Lina Soualem) is an actress, screenwriter and director. She was born and based in Paris. The Palestinian actress/filmmaker Hiam ABBASS and the French-Algerian actor Zinedine Soualem are her parents.
After studying history and political science at the University of the Sorbonne (Paris), she began in journalism and then moved on to cinema. She worked as a programmer for the Buenos Aires International Film Festival of Human Rights in Argentina and the Palest'In & Out festival in Paris. Her first feature documentary, "Their Algeria" (2020), was selected for its world premiere at Visions du Réel 2020.
As an actress, Lina has appeared in three feature films by directors Hafsia Herzi, Hiam Abbass and Rayhana: "Tu mérites un amour", "À mon âge, je me cache encore pour fumer" and "Inheritance (Héritage)", along with her mother Hiam Abbass (director, 2012), her sister Mouna Soualem, Hafsia Herzi, Ula Tabari, Ali Suliman, Tom Payne.... 
Today, she is developing her second feature documentary project and working as an screenwriter and assistant director on fiction, series and documentary projects.
