Talent Lab is an artistic development programme during the Toronto International Film Festival that provides emerging talent with an unparalleled education experience and an introduction to the global community of filmmaking. Over a five-day period, selected participants have the opportunity to interact with and learn from internationally acclaimed filmmakers. Using the Festival's outstanding relationships with world-class filmmakers, Talent Lab fulfills a tremendous need in the film industry, providing invaluable and incomparable artistic mentorship and development opportunities to a new generation of filmmakers. Talent Lab is presented by the Industry Office and takes place from Tuesday, September 8, to Saturday, September 12, 2015.



Eligibility
- This programme is open to emerging filmmakers with a minimum of two short film credits and a maximum of 1 feature film credit as director or screenwriter. Please note that Talent Lab focuses primarily on narrative storytelling and filmmaking.
- International applicants are welcome. Please note that all sessions in Talent Lab are held in English. Applicants should be able to speak and understand English fluently.
- Only one submission per applicant. Maximum of three total submissions to Talent Lab per applicant over the last 12 years, i.e.: If you have applied for Talent Lab unsuccessfully on three different occasions in the past twelve years, you are not eligible to apply for the 2015 Lab.
- Applicants must submit a continuous one-minute excerpt of one film project (short film, feature film; documentary, fiction or animation). Please note that we do not accept submissions of full-length films, demo reels, music videos and trailers. The clip must not exceed one (1) minute in length. If you have applied for Talent Lab in previous years, you have to re-apply with a different film clip.
- Applications need to be submitted by the applicants themselves, not by third parties (i.e. assistants, co-workers etc.).

Submissions & Deadlines
Online Applications will open on March 25 must be submitted by 5pm E.S.T. on Monday, June 22, 2015.
