Vocalist Bruce Melody Itahiwayo advised fellow musicians to always hire legal advisers before signing contracts with music labels.

Bruce made the warning shortly after winning a legal battle with Super Level records which had filed a Rwf18 million law suit against him.

"I rushed into signing a contract without going into details because I wanted to record songs and shine, but little did I know that the contract was just favoring label not me as an artiste," says Bruce Melody.

He added, "Singers should get good lawyers before signing a recording contract because some of the artistes end up messing their music career due to unfavorable contracts.

Bruce Melodie signed a four year contract with Super level records to promote his music but called it quits after working for only one year after noticing unfavorable conditions in Super Level.

Melody has scooped several awards since 2012 including an award from Guma Guma for being the 3rd runner up.

Melody is known by many in Rwanda for his role in encouraging local artists to focus on live music by staging only live music shows.
