The Journal of African Youth Literature (JAYL) is a new publication mainly (but not exclusively) aimed at African youth writers and readers.

We are currently seeking writing for consideration for publication in the Journal. This includes poetry, stories, plays, etc. We are seeking to publish about 40 authors from across Africa.

Please access the Journal Information Sheet and Author Guidelines at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BSSbsp2ksOzYluGCjJNPGPWgaivLigVX/view?usp=sharing.

Please share this call with youths and adults alike, especially those who cannot generally be reached by email. Please distribute via your formal and informal networks to other high schools, places of higher learning, libraries, community forums, etc.

A small reading fee is requested to generate funds for the Journal website. For authors who are unable to pay the fee, please send a short motivation with the submission.

Email your submissions to africanyouthliterature@gmail.com

DATES

Deadline for submissions is 30 September 2019.

First edition will be published online on 1 December 2019.
