(Palm Beach, Florida, USA) - ID Vision Films announces the USA premiere of "Haiti Untold" a feature-length documentary taking us behind the scenes of the aftermath of Haiti's 2010 Earthquake. Featuring Sean Penn, two-time Oscar winner and founder/CEO of JP/HRO relief organisation, the film presents an overview of progress in the countryin the last 3 years. The film also features George Laraque, retired pro hockey player, Donna Karan (DKNY) and other key organisations who played an important role during the first months of the response.
"We are pleased to bring the film to Palm Beach International Film Festival for its USA premiere, given the large Haitian diaspora here in Florida" says the film's co-director Isabelle Depelteau.
Haiti Untold also provides an unusual counter point-of-view of what is really happening in the country, looking at the impact of'first-world' media bias on the "Haitian story".
"One of the problems with media is there's not any media" says Sean Penn in the film, as he shares concerns for the message of the Haitian situation and the impact of media on ongoing relief efforts.
"We had great access to Mr Penn as well as key players from other organisations whose story has yet to be properly told in the media. But perhaps the most striking narrative is that of Jean marc Jean-François, a young haitian man who speaks to the future of his country, the hopes and dreams of an emerging working class looking to build a future for themselves. It is time this story be told." Says Dan Shannon, the film's producer and co-director.
