Musician Blessing "Tasarina" Chibaya who died in a car accident on Saturday together with ZBC senior technician Vitalis "PD" Mugove and another person will be buried today at Mutasa Cemetery in Gweru. She was 24. In an interview with the family spokesperson Given Chibaya, brother to the deceased, said the family was in deep pain after the tragic loss of their sister.



"It is so painful to lose a loved one as young and talented as Blessing, more so to lose her in an accident, if she was not feeling well it would be easier to accept but it's God's way. There is nothing we can do about it.



"Blessing was the last born in our family of two girls and two boys and she was born on August 9 1981," he said.



Players in the arts industry have expressed their condolences to the family of the young musician. Popular promoter Patson "Chipaz" Chimbodza who assisted the musician in launching her career said the nation has lost yet another talent.



"I received the news with great shock. Sadly we had planned a gig with her," he said.



Dancehall musician Terminator said the nation has lost a dedicated musician. "She was a good musician who worked hard and this is a great loss to the nation at large," he said.



Benjy Nyandoro, director of Jive Zimbabwe an organisation that sells music online, said Blessing's first album speaks volume of her.



"She was a great musician. We worked with her well after she launched her first album at the Book Cafe. May her soul rest in peace," said Nyandoro.



Given Chibaya said pertinet funeral arrangements have been made. "We have finalised the burial arrangements and she will be buried tomorrow, (today) at Mutasa Cemetery here in Gweru ," said Given.



The trio died when the car they were travelling in, a Toyota Mark II, hit a tree around 10pm at the Senga roundabout along the Gweru Shurugwi highway on Saturday.



Tasarina who started music at the young age of 10 died at a time when she had just released her Afro Jazz album "Zvakarongeka" at the Book Cafe recently.
