Renowned fashion designer Cathy Dixon Kochelani is once again back in the limelight and this time around hosting the Proverbs 31 Ladies in Heels through the Fashion for Change.

The event which will take place on Saturday at Atmosphere in Blantyre is set to dwell on fashion and faith.

"We are calling upon women in heels to this event. It's a special event which will feature guest speakers who will talk about fashion, beauty and spirituality among others. Our main speaker is Mama Apostle Ziba who will crown everything," said Cathy.

She said boutique owners will also have time to showcase their products during the event.

"We will also have makeover and best dressers of the day. On makeover we will take two women from our Fashion for Change women empowerment. These are women from the community and on this day we will do makeover to transform them and then give them money to do business," said Cathy.

She said Fashion for Change Women Empowerment is working tireless embarking on different projects aimed at changing lives of women through fashion.

Cathy who has travelled places showcasing her designs said through this platform they want to raise awareness on the true beauty of a woman.

"We are trying to explain what beauty is all about. Beauty is not about outside but even inside. Through this platform women will be enlightened on how they can look presentable at various occasions. How they can dress and we are looking at women dressing presentably and stylish," she said.

Having been using her brand Spectacular Fashions in the past years, Cathy said she is now trading as Cathy Dixon Kochelani label.

"Through Fashion for Change, we are training women in among others tailoring, sewing and we are also doing fashion for education in schools empowering young women to work hard in their studies. Those students who have no uniform we offer them for free and we also do fashion mentoring to upcoming designers and those who do fashion business," said Cathy.

Cathy who revealed that she will be on a fashion tour in June having partnered with designers from Botswana and Ethiopia said their aim is to reach more women out there, empower them so that they excel in their businesses.
