Workshop on Ghana’s Creative Economy at British Council

The CEO of TV Africa Kwaw Ansah and Ebo Whyte, Director of Roverman Productions will on Tuesday August 19 address a workshop on Ghana's creative economy at the British Council Hall in Accra.
 
Dubbed "Creative Industries and its implications for Ghana's Economy" the workshop forms part of a series of events sponsored by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development (CKU) for a preparation activity of the Danish Cultural Programme to Ghana. 
 
The creative economy is one of the rapidly growing sectors of the world economy. Indeed, it is highly transformative in terms of income generation, job creation and export earnings. It equally generates non-monetary value that contributes significantly to achieving people-centered, inclusive and sustainable development.
 
Core areas of the creative economy include film, fashion, performing arts, advertising, architecture, publishing, software development, toys, radio, TV, video games, crafts, literary arts, video games and others.
 
Kwaw Ansah is an award-winning Ghanaian filmmaker whose work as writer, director or producer includes "Love Brewed in the African Pot" (1981) and "Heritage Africa" (1989). Love Brewed in the African Pot, earned him immediate popularity and critical acclaim throughout English-speaking Africa and beyond.
 
Ebo Whyte is an accomplished / award winning playwright and highly sought after motivational speaker. He has written and directed numerous plays that have captured the hearts of theatre lovers in Accra and beyond.
 
Institute for Music and Development in collaboration with Arterial Network Ghana are organizing the workshop.
