As they flee the European conquests, Ibátali, a young Amerindian Kalinago and Olaudah, an Igbo slave, unite their destinies in the forests of Guadeloupe in the 17th century. They dream of a place where to start again freely: a new world.

1645. At the beginning of the conquest of the Americas by the Europeans. The wars between the French and Native Americans rage in Guadeloupe. Ibátali, a young Amerindian Kalinago, meets Olaudah, a runaway Igbo slave. She begins a long journey leading her from alienation to emancipation. But is she ready to pay the heavy price of freedom?
