A film by Raoul Coutard, produced by Georges Beauregard, shot in 1978.
It's a depiction of the hostage rescue performed in 1978 by the French Foreign Legion in Kolwezi, Zaire, when Katangan rebels took 3000 European citizens as hostages. 170 Europeans were killed and their bodies were mutilated.
The FFL saved 2800 of them in 2 days while losing 5 men in the operation. The Katangan rebels suffered 247 casualties.
