 Airileke
Airileke (i-reh-ley-key) is a respected Melbourne-based producer and artist that has built a name for himself through innovative projects such as DRUM DRUM, Guerilla Step and the Wantok Musik Foundation. The release of his debut album ‘Weapon of Choice' in November 2012 is the culmination of his huge involvement working with the sounds of Papua New Guinea to create a new hybrid music community between Australia and the Pacific.

The Melbourne-based producer draws on both PNG and Oz roots, creating a new sound with futuristic ideas and beats that hark back to ancient Melanesian culture. Sample based hip-hop production, fierce log drumming, PNG chants, atmospheric sound scapes and samples of West Papua's Free Papua Movement (OPM) delve into one of the region's darkest stories-the oppression and illegal occupation of West Papua. This is the new sound of urban Papua New Guinea in Australia.

In 2004 Airi created the first Pacific Island production tool with Percussion grooves, beats, samples and sounds effects that define the Pacific. It was released with the launch of Native Instrument's Intakt software, and called Native Instrument in the USA and Zero G in the UK. Some of his sounds, beats and unique grooves are now featured in software programs such as Garage Band and Acid Wav
