Robert is a versatile dance performer, teacher and choreographer who has had a career in informal and formal dance settings experiencing various dance styles.
Robert started dancing at the tender age of 12 in a traditional dance troupe called Sauti Africa. After this, he joined Bavubuka All Stars, a local hip-hop canvas based in Uganda where he engaged in break dance and graffiti. He stayed with this organisation for 2 years, leaving when the program left his neighbourhood.
Traditional Ugandan dance which he loves because he is more competent in this style
Robert started Speed and Funky dance, a community based project for 10-15 year olds in 2010. He believes that the project will evolve into a dance academy. He hopes to create a space for children to improve their dance abilities.
Robert sponsors 2 children at Gujjating African Art, where he stays. This organisation empowers the youth through art and he is the program coordinator.
