Arkaingelle born in 1973 comes from Buxton, a village in the South American country of Guyana. Going to church from a young age with his grandparents helped influence his musical journey. Some of the artists that Arkaingelle has been inspired by are Burning Spear, Bob Marley, Culture, Midnite, Isreal Vibrations, Count Ozzie and the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari and countless others. His lyrics show an Afro-Caribbean influence combined with the spirituality of Rastafari, along with his energy prove that he is a musical force to be reckoned with.
For the past five year Arkaingelle has been spreading his music from New York to Seattle, Hawaii and throughout California. He has had the pleasure of opening for some well known reggae artists such as Tippa Irie, Prezident Brown, Lutan Fyah, Ras Attitude, Bambu Station, and Army. In 2008 Arkaingelle released his first album titled O'pen which has been well received by the reggae community. He toured throughout the California and Northwest promoting his new album. Arkaingelle performed at the Whole Earth Festival in Davis, CA and at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival Pre-Show in the summer of 2008. In the fall of 2008 Arkaingelle was part of the Rooted in Inity Tour which included artists Blaak Lung and Ras Popo Ites from Brazil.
