Alain Ekollo is inspired by social events, by the war, by diseases, by suffering, but also by music.
Born on December 28th, 1974 in Douala, he has been always living there. He starts interesting in art in 1991 during a festival of arts in Douala IV where he won an award.This experience enables him to meet many artists who will guide him in his training and his evolution.He creates the "New Art" collective with the assistance of other artists and gives at the same time some courses of visual arts. He is also in the group of artists "Elolombé" with whom he realised an exhibition at the Doual' art gallery.This autodidact uses materials of recovery (fabric, clink, boards...) including his identity. Alain Ekollo died on September 1st, 2004.
