Ni-Vanuatu writer and historian Anna Naupa is well known for her translation of Nabanga Pikinini and for being the first ni-Vanuatu to graduate from Harvard University in 2014.

Nabanga Pikinini is a children's story book presenting many traditional stories of Vanuatu.  From 2004 until 2008 the Vanuatu Cultural Centre ran The Oral Arts Project, to which one of the principal objectives of the project was to preserve and popularize the oral traditions (or customs stories) of Vanuatu by making them more widely available as books. Nabanga Pikinini continues this vision.
