Bernardo Suate studied in Mozambique and in Italy. In 1996 he obtained his Masters' Degree in Social Sciences and Social Communication, with specialisation on Multimedia Use of Radio for Rural Development. Bernardo was Vice-President of OCIC Africa from 1998 to 2001 and Secretary of the Communications Department of IMBISA in Harare, Zimbabwe up to 2002. In 2003 he was appointed as Director of Signis Service Rome (SSR), He has served on SIGNIS Juries at FESPACO, Prix Italia, Venice, Alba and Zanzibar.
