Screenwriter and filmmaker Cyrielle RAINGOU (Cameroon) has a Master's degree in law and documentary filmmaking. She uses legends, metaphors and symbolism to tell stories about cultural identities in Africa, their promotion on an international scale and the economic interest it raises. Her short film The Lamb (2021) was nominated for Best Short Film at Docudays UA International Documentary Human Rights Film Festival. Her follow-up short film Mama dan que Soriso (2022), and her first feature-length documentary Le Spectre de Boko Haram (2022), were selected for IFFR 2023. Outside filmmaking she loves playing chess.

Cyrielle Raingou is a Cameroonian filmmaker passionate about the concept and development of a certain African cultural identity, its promotion on an international scale and the economic interest it raises. She strongly believes that one can make a living from the art in Africa. She uses images and soundtrack to tell stories, while adding a touch of the imaginary and the whimsical; inherited from her grandmother's extraordinary storyteller gift. She very often uses legends, metaphor, the symbolism of certain animals, to support human stories in their complexity; and the mystery of life.
Cyrielle Raingou has directed short films such as "Challenge" selected in many festivals worldwide, "Les voisins", "Requiem prologue" premiered at Luxor African Film Festival 2019; the "Lamb" 2020, Parallèle 2021 and recently "mother just a smile".
Cyrielle Raingou holds master degrees in law and in documentary film directing from Docnomads Joint Master program.
